The General Membership is informed that;
1. Yesterday (02-10-2018), about seven (7) comrades from the Mhlosheni Branch of the SNAT were arrested by the Lavumisa Police as they were participating in the country wide legal *SNAT Activities.*
2. The arrests were made at around 1400hrs and they were detained at the Lavumisa Police Station.
3. These comrades were, however, temporarily released at 2230hrs on Tuesday (02-10-2018) after the intervention of the SNAT-NEC together with the Mhlosheni Branch Executive Committee (BEC) and some members from the same Branch, pending finalization of investigations by the Police Service.
4. As an organisation, we;
4.1. Condemn, in the strongest terms, this kind of unwarranted intimidation that is meted by members of the Royal Swaziland Police (RSP) service to our harmless members.
4.2 Note that the objective thereof is to instill fear to our members thereby forcing them to abandon the just cause of fighting for the Cost of Living Adjustment [CoLA].
4.3 Observe that such an act by the Police is antithetical with the much-talked-about industrial harmony that is said to be in existence between the Government of Swaziland and it's employees.
5. As the SNAT-NEC, we shall be monitoring the situation closely and our members shall be kept abreast with latest information that is related to the struggle for the COLA, as events on same unfold.
